Summary: International food manufacturer is seeking a Lab Assistant Technician to help support quality assurance efforts. Successful candidate will perform lab analysis to validate product specifications and work closely with other lab technicians and line leaders.
Experience with UV, Gas Chromatography and HPLC highly preferred, but will be willing to train candidates if necessary. A Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Pharmacology or Mathematics, and ability to work collaboratively with other team members required.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for chemical evaluation of final product, intermediate products, raw materials, and production facilities.
Performs inspections checks, and testing of materials for quality control for the manufacture of products.
Operating mechanical and electrical test equipment to check apparatus for conformance to standard requirements.
Performing QC assays, writing and establishing specifications, assisting in the validation of QC assays, and writing Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation.
Assists in the development of quality standards and protocols for quality assurance testing models.
Designs and implements policies and procedures for testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or equipment.
May lead and direct the work of others
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
B.S. in Chemistry, Pharmacology, and/or Mathematics
Demonstrated teamwork abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication skills
3 - 5 years Lab experience using equipment such as UV, Gas Chromatography and HPLC highly preferred
Industrial experience in a food manufacturing environment or demonstrable training in an analytical laboratory using the mentioned equipment (installation, maintenance, methods) preferred
Salary will be commensurate with experience. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
